I know this forum is just starting, but I have an honest question that can't wait. :D

About a month ago I got the bright idea to try and sprout a coconut and grow it into a tree. What I've done so far is put it out in the sun so it gets good and brown, which it now is. I think it's time to pot it now, but I'd like some hints/tips on what type of soil is best, soil ph, how often should I water it, does it need fertilizer, how deep should I plant it, etc.

It is the whole entire coconut, not just the inside part that they sometimes sell in stores.

Thanks! :)

A coconut is just a big giant seed. I have never done it, but a quick check on line seems to make sense. Pop in a pot and cover with rich composted soil and keep moist.

It will take up to 9 monthes for it to sprout. Don't over soak it so it rots and good luck. Can't wait to see it.

Nine months!! I'm going to have to be patient.

When I pot it, do you think I should put it all the way under the dirt or only partially?

I know it is a long time, I would completely cover it and mulch it.
