Hello from the Sierras. Have lived in the Berkeley CA area in the past where having a backyard flock of hens is the norm as is a backyard vegetable garden. Heck a couple years ago Berkeley even changed the law so you can now grow vegetables in the front yard.
When we were in the Seattle area we were pleased to see lots of urban vegetable gardens as we drove the highways of the city. And now we have folks from the city who have created co-ops where they come to our area twice a week to buy organic whole milk.
