They're absolutely gorgeous!! Too bad crocheted socks don't feel quite as good on the foot :)

Great Job. I still haven't made any socks. Maybe in 2010!

thank you both!

Patti - admittedly socks were tough for me! I've been a sweater-knitter for 30 years, but socks require certain skills that I didn't know if I had in me! :D

Heels (short rows) are the thing to master, as well as the toes! After a few top-down socks, I decided that Kitchener stitching those toes was a bigger pain in the @$$ than I was willing to master and switched to toe-up. The next thing to learn, for me, was how to cast off in ribbing in a way that didn't make them super tight!

And now, I really want to learn how to cast-on two toe-up socks onto one long circular needle! :D Yes, I'm a work in progress.

BUT - if you look at this as just one long learning curve - and as brave as you are about tackling new things - this should be a piece of gluten-free cake for you! All I can say is, try it!! The first pair or two won't be perfect, but by pair number 3, you'll be hooked!

Have fun!!!!

Abby - maybe not, but crocheted SLIPPERS are marvelous! :D
