back in the spring, I planted some new (red) potatoes. Of course, later in the summer, I harvested them. Now, I have a few volunteer potatoes springing up from where I had them. Apparently, I didn't harvest *all* of the potatoes. :p

(Whisper: *score!*)

Anyway, what I'm wondering is: will they overwinter in zone 6b? or should I try to harvest all I can before frost? They are just tiny babies right now, so, if I can get a second harvest out of them, I'd like to leave them in until they are mature enough. What do you all think?

Thanks for your help.

I think you can keep them in the ground until frost, but you should harvest them. You want to rotate where you grow potatoes on a yearly bases to prevent pests and diseases.

well, that makes sense. Okay - I'll leave them in until we are due for a pretty good frost (tonight's temp supposed to be 31 - that's pretty light for frost, I think. ground should still be warm... I hope.) I hope I can get at least a *few* more potatoes this year.
