Hello everyone, I live in corpus christi ,texas. I have been organic gardening for about 5 years . I have been doing alot of research on the subject. after viewing patti's web site one day , I just went into high gear growing my own veggies from seeds, raising chickens which I think is very cool. along with making my own compost, I have 8 chooks that I bought in feburary this year. I use the moon and the signs of the zodiac for everything I do in the garden, belive me, it works. time to go and get my dirty.

hi, and welcome to the boards.
I don't know anything about the moon or the signs. Would you be willing to share? (Is that similar to the farmer's almanac?)

The farmers alamanc is one tool that I sometimes use. if you go on line and type in the almanack, you'll see what I am talking about.
Their are alot of sites that I have bookmarked just by typing in gardening by the moon , moon sites, and gardening sites.

I have some friends in Corpus Christi! The Creasons and the Copples... Do you know them by chance?
Also, I have seen this term "chook" a few times on the site.
Can someone please enlighten me on what they are?! :o

Its a Chicken. Usually a younger chicken. But a sweet little chicken. I think it is funny we already have a secret club language.....

I'm in Boerne, just northwest of San Antonio - but I visit Port A fairly often. I imagine that is a great climate for growing. Were you there when they had the big snow?

I visit Port A sometimes to fish. The climate is prefect now for grow veggies.
I sure was here when it snow, it blew everybodys mind . I had about 4 inches of the white stuff in my back yard .
