Sorry the picture is bad but I have a cheap camera. This is my first attempts to make a pair of mittens for my grandson. I had to "unknit" quite a few times and had a devil of a time learning to cast AND I discovered I did the pattern wrong when I was almost done with the second mitten...but all in all, they are wearable. The first mitten took me almost 8 hours! Luckily I did learn a few things and the second only took 1 hour and 45 minutes.

You did great!!! Wish my early attempts came out so well!

BTW: When you unknit one stitch at a time, we call that tinking (TINK is knit - backwards) and when you unknit several stitches or rows at a time, we call it frogging because you have to RIPPIT, RIPPIT, RIPPIT

I have to admit I spend quite a bit of time being a frog...ripit, ripit...I would rather spend more time tinking since it is only a couple stitches instead of whole rows.

I was able to make another pair of gloves for my oldest granddaughter but did not get a picture as I was still knitting the thumb on the way to a party.

I also given a huge bag of yarn from someone on freecycle which had many very small balls/ends of yard. I decided to make some barbie dresses for my 4 year old granddaughter using up the bits. The were simple tube dresses but turned out pretty good. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.
