I just can't decide! I love my chickens. They are so much fun, give me great compost and the eggs are incredible. I loved raising them from babies. I remember the "peep peep peep peep" every night as I fell asleep (the brooder was in our master bathroom).
I have twelve hens. Ten are brown egg layers-four RIR, three black sex-links, three red sex-links, and two Auracana.
The Auracana we bought at an auction last July. The other ten we got in April. I have to keep the Auracanas separate as the older girls pick on them so much.
So that is my problem. I really want more chickens but can't stand the thought of any of them getting picked on. We are thinking of remodeling the coop so they could be separated, but that might not happen this year.
