Hi everyone
I'm a transplant to Rio Rancho NM, the soil here is pure clay and the wind is harsh. I am attempting to garden in containers including three small raised beds. My other hobby (obsession more like it is ceramics) I have found a pratical item for the southwest...Ollas "Oy yas" a unglazed terra cotta vessel you bury for deep watering ( a Native American invention)....so I am producing them and will start selling them on ebay along with my violet pots. My seller Id is the same as my tag here.

I have lots of transplants ready for the garden and I am hardening them off. Hopefully I will be getting my soil from the mercantile this week. I am planting tomatoes, chili's, swiss chard, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, egg gourd, wax beans...veggies I like. Unfortunately I don't have room for corn. I have potatoes planted in smart pots but so far no growth I can see. I am planning on a wind break.
