This is from Edgar

> "Orinoco" not "Oronoco"

..... Garden Imbecile

Do you know how insulted this banana plant will be? Do you? Oronoco,
in the language of the Tonto people of Tierra del Tontos means "he
who sucks scum from the bottom of toilet bowls". On the other hand
"Orinoco" means " the esteemed Company of the God Orin" . Orin who
was a Lutheran missionary from Minnesota who was revered by the Tonto
people of the river basin because he impregnated so many of the local
women after his inspiring sermons that he became known affectionately
after twenty years as "father". That was just before he formed a
Banana company with his name sake Orin-O-Co.

So next time you casually say Oronoco think twice.... think twice so
you will not alienate that large part of your subscribership who live
in the land of Tonto.

Where did this garbage come from?

Orinoco is the 3rd largest river in the world, behind the Amazon and the Nile. Like the Amazon, it is in South America. In fact, it splits into 2 rivers, one part becomes a tributary to the Amazon, and the other empties into the Atlantic Ocean with a huge Delta in its own right.

I have never seen the Amazon river, but I have seen the Orinoco, where one of it's tributaries, The Caroni river flows into it. It is amazing how much water that river carries. It is the biggest body of water, other than the oceans that I have ever seen, and it is flowing.

Edgar would appear to me to be the King of the Tontos.

Bah, like I've never mistyped in my blog. Heck, I misspell words daily since Wordpress broke their own spell checker. Insane.

Yes

Tonto means, usually translated into English, "Fool"

My older brother Paul, used to tell the old Joke:

"Know why Tonto killed the Lone Ranger?"

"He found out what Tonto means."

Here in Arizona, there is a National Forest known as the Tonto National Forest. It is named after the Tonto Apache Tribe. The Tonto Apaches were given that title after Catholic Padres, after trying to christianize the Apaches tribes they found in present day New Mexico, came over to present day Arizona, met another tribe they classed together with the Apaches of New Mexico, but thier language was different!!!

""These "Tonto Apaches" don't know how to speak thier own language."" claimed the padres.

The title stuck.
