Turkey Sighting!
Only in Roxbury?

Roxbury, MA has wild turkeys.

I know you wouldn't believe it with out a picture.

The Turkey lives across the street.

The kids were chasing it in our neighbors yard yesterday. I just love my neighborhood.

OPEN HOUSE
May 10th & 11th 10am-2pm

The first open house is finally here. I've been working non stop prepping the farm for your visit. Not much has grown in yet, but there's still a lot to see. I'll be giving tours of the farm where you'll get to meet and feed the animals. This is a great opportunity to ask questions. The best way to learn is by doing, so prepared to pitch in and get dirty. Farm Activities weather permitting. The forcast is rain for both days, but we'll be here. We also have items for sale. City Year
City Heroes on the Farm!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of having high school students from City Year help me out on the farm as part of their service. They really showed that they are City Heroes!

Thanks to Ashley for thinking of the farm and coordinating everything beautifully. Everyone came ready to work and work they did.

They helped supplement the garden beds in my main garden with soil and turn them. They mulched my perennial garden and around my trees. They also helped by laying ¾ inch gravel in my new garden.

Highlights from Around the Web
Lots to see

My newest inspiration is Natalia Rose and her book, The Raw Food Detox Diet.

It sounds extreme, I know, but as I read the book I just felt a connection with what she was talking about. Not to mention, all of the things she says that are good for you, are already growing fresh in my garden.

She of course continually references Whole Foods(Whole Paycheck), but I was amazed that everything I grow, from fruits to veggies to eggs are on this diet! As crazy as it sounds, I'm a level 3.

My friend, LA Actor and Musician Luis Robledo, who recently visited us, is a Raw foodist (level 1 I think)and is in great shape.

He's making a short film in Boston this summer and I can't wait to make him some raw food recipes! (FYI: he's got a new band that is hot in LA called Sorry Nelson[Geoffry Rhue, who was one of the leads in Squeeze plays the drums].

My favorite song is Te Pido. I have it on repeat.

Also check out the bloggers at www.ft2garden.com. Judy has the coolest, and I mean coolest trellis system. Check out the pics, they are right under her great Garden Girl TV section. Thanks Judy

Also check out Lylah Ledner and the Garden Guy's photo's of their garden.

She is already making Tomato sauce with her produce, ah to live in a warm climate!

Latest News - New Camera
Garden Girl TV is now HD

We recently purchased the new Red camera. It is a state of the art camera that uses film lenses.

The image is incredible. We started shooting with it on Sat and wow...What an upgrade! Garden Girl TV is on the cutting edge of Modern American Lifestyles and Media Technology.

For all of you in the film industry locally, we will be holding Red Cam workshops, the first in New England, this summer. The workshop is a must if you want to rent the Red from us.

This camera is far from a consumer camera and takes a high level of film production experience specifically film camera knowledge to begin to get up to speed on the Red. If you've never used a film camera before, this is the camera or camera workshop for you. Stay tuned for more info on Red Cam workshops.
